Who we are

Ben’s Place is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York.   It is my home, my dream, my passion.

I’m Jeff.

A lifelong dog lover, I’ve always been moved by the plight of dogs in the shelter.  It’s the seniors though, the dogs that get overlooked, that aren’t going to get adopted; it’s those dogs that I’m most passionate about rescuing.  No dog deserves to live alone in a cage.  They certainly don’t deserve to die in one.

I don’t rehome or adopt out the dogs I rescue. Once they are here, this is their forever home. There aren’t any cages or kennels at Ben’s Place. The dogs have free roam of the house and live as beloved pets/family members. The house has an acre of fenced yard for the dogs to enjoy. They eat a mixture of kibble and human-grade food. They get their veterinary care at Cornell University.

More than this though, they are loved.

So very, very loved.

For however long these dogs have left, I strive to give them the absolute best life I can.

Ben’s Place is named after and dedicated to my forever dog, the love of my life;  my Bernese Mountain Dog,  Ben.
